My Mind Went Blank

My mind went blank.
I don’t know what to say.
Ask me a question
any other day.
My stomach is full.
I’m enjoying a fine wine.
I can’t help with the answer
it will have to be another time.
You put me on the spot
and I don’t like tests.
Why would you ask me
instead of all the rest?
It happens to the best of us
when something seems absurd.
When put to a simple task
We just don’t know the words.
